On this page I would like to tell a little about my family. Bent and I have been married for 49 years and we have a son, Allan, who is married to Anne, and they have two children.

 

We lost our daughter, Helle, when she was twelve years old. She had an undiscovered organic heart decease which we did not know anything about. This was the reason why she didn't survive an acute appendicitis - she didn't wake up after the surgery.

It was very hard for Bent and me to loose our daughter, and not least to Allan as he was only eight years old when Helle died. When we told him that his older sister had died, which was very hard to tell him, he shouted NO, NO - only old people die, not my sister.

 

We went through a very tough time, but we also understood that it was our responsibility to raise him as an independent boy and not to protect him too much, which would be obvious for fear that something would happen to Allan as well.

 

 

 

At that time Bent was working with the Scandinavian Airlines, which made it possible for us to travel to many countries around the world together with our son.

 

 

Time has gone by and we have been blessed with two grandchildren - Marie-Louise, who is 19 years old, and Nick, who is 22 years old. We consider it to be the sweets of our life to have grandchildren. We really enjoy having these young people around, and Marie-Louise now has a boyfriend, Frederik, whom we like a lot.

 

 

There is nothing better than watching our grandchildren grow up in healthy environments with parents who love their children and watch them being happy in a harmonious home with Mom and Dad. These environments have our son and daughter-in-law been able to provide.

 

I am very grateful to my family and to my husband who have supported me greatly during various cases of illness.

I am also grateful to our family and friends for encouragement and pleasure throughout the years and to new friends whom we have learned to know during the latest years.

But our greatest gratitude is to God who has kept us from being bitter. In spite of everything that has come my way I can today say, thank you for a wonderfuld life.
